We are very pleased that Dr Cornelia Kalender was officially elected Secretary General at this meeting and that Prof. Rüdiger Höffer took over the office of Treasurer.
The Parforce course is taking place again this semester. Participants get to know the virtual laboratories of several institutes at various universities and work in small groups on a project to evaluate structures under wind, fire and earthquake impact. The course will take place as a presence event at one of the universities involved in the project from 24 to 28 March 2025.
On 3 October, we once again took part in Mouse Day, which had the motto ‘ZusammenTun’ (working together), this year. We welcomed many interested children and their parents to our wind tunnel.
The Institute of Wind Engineering and Fluid Mechanics at Ruhr-Universität Bochum organised a workshop as part of the COST action ‘MODENERLANDS - Modular Energy Islands for Sustainability and Resilience’ on 2 and 3 September 2024 at the Beckmannshof at the Botanical Garden of Ruhr-Universität Bochum.
On Friday, 19.07.2024, on the initiative of Prof. Höffer, a meeting took place between the Chamber of Engineers Construction NRW, represented by Dr. Peiffer and Ms. Hendriks, and representatives of the Civil Engineering Student Council of the RUB in the meeting room of the WIST working group.
