We are pleased to invite you to a comprehensive workshop and seminar to develop, discuss and share insights for the further development of wind energy. The VIV Symposium will take place on June 6 and 7, 2024 in Bochum.

The working group for wind engineering and fluid mechanics at Ruhr-Universität Bochum is conducting a DFG research project in cooperation with Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy to investigate and promote the transfer of knowledge about aeroelastic phenomena on wind turbines. With the help of measurements of wind pressure and tower response on prototypes of wind turbines in Østerild, knowledge about vortex-induced vibrations (VIV) and Reynolds number disparities is to be deepened and expanded. The collaboration also deals with interference effects of wind turbine towers in the group. The investigations lead to potential new approaches that can be considered for the certification of onshore and offshore wind turbines.

In line with the objectives and program of the research, we are pleased to invite you to a comprehensive workshop and seminar to develop, discuss and share insights for the further development of wind energy. The VIV Symposium will take place on June 6 and 7, 2024 in Bochum, Germany.
