Scientific seminar on field measurement on wind turbine towers

On Thursday, 25 January, Ika Kurniawati from our group had the opportunity to visit the hydrodynamics laboratory LadHyX, CNRS of the Ecole Polytechnique de Paris, France, on invitation.

The seminar focussed on the topic of field measurements on wind turbine towers, research into the Reynolds number and vortex-induced vibrations (VIV). The seminar presented the results of the DFG transfer project "Modelling the aeroelastic response of slender structures to vortex-induced vibrations: Transfer to industry through a large-scale experimental campaign on a wind turbine,", project number 493357786 were presented. The presentation was a great success and was received with great interest and questions from the audience. The dialogue with colleagues from the LadHyX hydrodynamics laboratory continued throughout the day. There was also the opportunity to visit some of LadHyX's experimental facilities and gain an insight into remarkable experimental set-ups.
